    I am not sure what the actual regulations are but in the US I see them on the left side of the trailer, usually at running lamp level, must be marked ABS, can be at the front or the rear of the trailer, don't need to be visible from the tractor as far as I know just visible during pre-trip and subsequent walk arounds. Try getting in touch with a local trailer shop like Fruehauf, Great Dane, Utility, etc... Their mechanics will know for certain and if any local laws apply.
