I went to the post office and did two things to celebrate my 18th birthday. I signed up with Selective Services and I registered to vote. For various reasons, I have failed to vote in some of the midterm and off year election, but I have voted in every presidential election since I turned 18. We believe that it is our duty to take part in government and to try to influence the government to do the right things for the people as a whole. (Just as that is the duty of all citizens.) How can we influence a democratic government if we don't vote?
