    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

On One Hand: Yes, It Can

Cervical stenosis is the decrease in the space of spinal tract due to degenerated or herniated disc. According to the MayoClinic.com, it causes pressure on the spinal nerves and can lead to weakness and loss of muscle strength in the legs. Bowel or bladder incontinence is seen in severe cases of cervical stenosis.

On the Other: Symptoms Not a Given

The MayoClinic.com states that, even with cervical stenosis, many patients may not show any signs of loss of leg strength or incontinence.

    Bottom Line

Any loss of muscle strength in the legs or incontinence with bladder or bowel function may appear with severe progression of cervical stenosis; however, leg weakness does not mean the patient will be incontinent.
