    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Chow Chows are not the only breed of dog to have blue and black tongues. Some mixed-breed dogs and purebreds, such as the Chinese shar pei, Akita, Alaskan malamute and Siberian husky, can have blue or black on their tongues.

Nope! Lots of other dogs can have blue/black tongues or spots on their tongues. Some of them are:
    - Sharpeis
    - Labrador Retrievers
    - Great Pyrenees
    - Keeshond
    - Rottweilers

Chow chows are one of the oldest breeds of dog and many other breeds descend from them. Because of that, many breeds have black coloring on their tongues also.
