  • I have very long, very curly hair, too, and after years of going to salons that didn't have a clue as to how to cut my hair properly, I decided to start cutting it myself, and have done ever since. The best style of cut I have found is one that incorporates layers of different lengths, but that are still reasonably long. That way, I don't get the Shirley Temple look when my hair dries naturally. If your hair is thick, I would also recommend getting someone qualified to thin it out. This will not only remove quite a lot of the dry and damaged hair, but it will allow your natural curl to come through without being weighed down or frizzy. In regards to the damage, stop using hot tools on your hair as much as you can manage. Curly hair is already susceptible to more split ends and breakage than straight hair, and over-heating doesn't help. Invest in a good shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, and only wash your hair every second day, but condition it and run a comb through it (while the conditioner is on) to get rid of any tangles or knots. You could also invest in some treatments for your hair - they don't necessarily have to be expensive, and you can use natural things like avocado and eggs to give your hair softness and shine. I love coconut oil, too (not the type you use for tanning - go to a health food store for this. It is quite thick and creamy) because it moisturizes my hair and makes it smell good, too. The best thing to do is go to a salon and really talk to your stylist so that they understand what you are after. I wouldn't recommend cutting your own hair unless you really know what you are doing. Good luck.
  • Okay, this is the way to go. I had the same thing goin on. You are goin to want to get a trim to get rid of split ends, then your going to want to get low layers. The low layers will make your hair look fuller and more even because your hair is long, by getting some layers and a little trim your hair wont be as weighed down and the curles being varied. Otherwise the curles closer to the scalp are not as curly as the curles from the middle of your hair down because of the weight of your hair. This also means with this cut you don't really have to do much with it. this cut it great curly and if you were to just blow-dry or straighten it too.
  • Well in World War 2 I served as a nurse and we got many cases very similar to this. Usually the best way to solve the problem was to eat four turnips a day. The vitamin B in turnips helps calm the hair follicles and also assists in repairing their damage. After a short time of 5.34 years you should notice a definite change in hair texture. If you are not satisified with this attempt, you can always shave your head and donate it to charity.
  • a really nice hat
  • well the best hair cut is to get layers..... curly hair needs layer (or so im told) so the shortest layer should probably be a little longer than shoulder length......... and i use garnier frutis curl lock spray gel and it only take a few mins to put in....... the end results are great.. :)
