    According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 54.9 square kilometrekm sq (21.2 square miles). 54.7 km sq (21.1 mi sq) of it is land and 0.2 km sq (0.1 mi sq) of it (0.38%) is water.

    At Cheyenne, the north-south Interstate 25 intersects with the east-west Interstate 80. Great Lakes Airlines is based at Cheyenne.

    Cheyenne lies at 6063 feet above sea level, almost 800 feet above The Mile High City.
