    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

According to worthpoint.com, the Howard Johnson's uniform in the late 1960s and 1970s consisted of a short sleeve, peach-colored polyester dress with an orange and plaid front bodice and matching plaid trim on the collar and sleeve edges.

Waitress's at Howard Johnson's were called "Johnson Girls". The uniform was a green and white one piece dress worn with a one piece slip under garment. At least this was true of the mid-west. I woked for HJ from 1966 until 1973 in several states. They did go to that supremely ugly orange uniform in the 70s shortly before thier demise.

When my friends and I worked at Ho-Jo's inthe late 60's the uniform was aqua checked with a small apron. I would like to find one of these uniforms to give to my friend for her 60th birthday. Great memories!
