Drugs.com does not cite the treatment of ringworm as a normal use of the prescription topical cream triamcinolone acetonide. Its intended use is to reduce inflammation caused by skin conditions such as eczema, allergic reactions and psoriasis.
WebMD states the fungal infection of ringworm can become inflamed under certain conditions. In this case it is possible triamcinolone acetonide can reduce the inflammation caused by ringworm. However, it is important to note that this cream will not kill or cure ringworm, as this condition is one caused by fungus.
Traimcinolone acetonide topical cream will not reduce or kill ringworm, but it is possible the inflammation caused by ringworm is lessened if this cream is applied. Please speak with a physician before using this cream for ringworm.
