Help answer this question below.
System Link is a gaming system feature that requires connecting multiple Xbox consoles to each other--using an Ethernet cable--or to a network via a hub or router. For games that support it (such as "Halo 3"), this allows more than four players to play simultaneously. For small games (four players or less), using System Link can give players more TV space than if they were sharing one TV. Using four Xboxes, each player would get the entire TV instead of the split-screen view. "Halo 3" was one of the first games on the Xbox 360 to support four-player cooperative play using System Link. The entire Campaign mode can be played cooperatively via System Link. "Latency" (more commonly referred to as lag) is a term used to describe the delay between connected machines. Whoever creates the System Link game in "Halo 3" is considered the host. In competitive modes, the host has a slight advantage, as the host always has zero latency. "Halo 3" supports 16 players in various competitive multiplayer modes. System Link is the only way to host a local game containing 16 players (four Xboxes, four TVs, four players per Xbox). Game modes such as "Capture the Flag" and "King of the Hill" are more suited to large maps with eight or more players.Advantages
