    She serves as the personal representative of the Queen, formally grants the royal assent to acts of the Canadian Parliament, and eats raw seal hearts.
    .
    I'm not kidding -- it's an Inuit custom and she made a few PR waves recently by partaking.
    .
    Somehow I doubt Elizabeth II put that specifically into the Governor General's job description, but I think the Inuit were deeply moved by it.
