The saying is something like "if you love someone, let them go; if they come back to you they are yours; if they don't, they never were." I think you can figure out the meaning.
Because no one likes being in the hands of a control freak. If you love them, you should be able to trust them.
It means in a relationship, that if you loved them enough to respect them and there wishes you let them go and don't force your hand upon them and make matters worse. This can go into legal issues of stalking and domestic desputes which is why people have had to learn to back off.
So you don't choke it to death.
because if you love something you want it to be happy and if setting it free will do that , that's what you do. if you love something. but thats the fine line between love and obsession
(The actual saying is if you love someone as opposed to something) I learned in Sunday School some time ago that God gave us free will to accept Him or reject Him. Eventually I learned that He did this because he wanted a more intimate relationship with us, His creation. He did create the angels to love and serve Him, but they will never have the same kind of relationship with God as we can have.
What it boils down to is that you chose to love this person. If you don't give them the opportunity to choose or reject you, your relationship will always be one-sided. On top of that, if they don't come back, will you stop loving them or will you want them to be happy.
Setting a loved one free will not only tell you if or how much they love you, but it will also tell you how much you love them.
If you don't, you'll never know if that love is really being returned, or if you are in fact only 'loving' yourself by proxy.
you'll only set him free if its the best thing to do...you respect him/her and you love him more than you love yourself that even though you won't be with him...you'll still be happy when you know that you let him go because its for him...
It's because you want to see that specific thing happy.
because you just want what is best for the thing that u love. whether staying with it or letting it go
because LOVE IS NOT SELFISH.
