    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Refile tax returns within three years of the original filing date or tax extensions. All due taxes must be paid for the three years or amended returns are only accepted for two years back. Submit Form 1040X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, to correct a previously filed Form 1040, 1040EZ or 1040A statement.
