When you search the meaning of a word what method do you use? (eg: google, dictionary, etc..)

    If I'm by a computer I type define and then the word in google if not I use my Collins English Dictionary.

    I use Google dictionary. Just go to the main Google page and type "define:(word)". It works great, and you can shoose what definition you like best...or choose the shortest one. ;-)

    What others have indicated are normal search methods.
    There is a meta-search site which searches all possible
    dictionary sites and provides as many answers. You can
    also use it for idioms and phrases.

    I often just type the word directly into the search box on my homepage (I use both Google and Yahoo!)That way I have a lot more sources of information about the word.
