I also wear a support for my spine, which is about the same size, (under the armpits, to the base of my spine), as I have a spinal curvature myself.

Is your son able to tell you if it's uncomfortable for him to wear? You should be able to get adjustments made to it, if it isn't comfortable for him.

Does he really need it on for that long also, i.e. when he's in bed? I don't wear mine in bed.

The first time I had my support, was at about the same age that your son is now. (I'm 35 now, and still wear one.)

Perhaps if you and your son get into a 'routine' of putting it on, each day, after a while, it won't seem as difficult, or strange to him.

Also, as your son grows, he will need to have new ones designed for him, so he won't have the same one all the time.

I hope my comments and advice have been helpful to you.

    JamesD. :-)

be honest explain as much as u can, why it is on... etc. this will make it easier for him when he is at school and other children have questions. If he knows nothing the children will make things up. This is how bullying is founded.

I agree. Be honest and give him as much information as he can understand...if he KNOWS what the truth is then that is empowering to him. Information is power.

Having this for even a long while...is not WHO HE IS, OR WHAT HE CAN DO WITH HIS LIFE...it is one portion, that totally sucks..for a time IN his life.

Maybe it would help too...to know that only the strong of mind, heart, will and body follow through with that which must be done....the weak...rarely make a true effort to create success in their lives...HE IS CREATING SUCCESS FOR A HEALTHY, STRONG BODY for the REST of his life. He really IS a hero!

    Blessings
