I have am iPod 4GB. The screen will not display anything. I can here music but I cant see what Im choosing. I did not use it for 2-3 month

This is called the "Steve-Jobs-Wants-You-to-Buy-a-New-One" bug. The only known fix is to upload $300 to Apple's site.

Contact a technical expert for a full diagnosis of the Ipod. Call Apple's customer support if they have any.
