Yes, that is helpful to know how big of an obstacle you have before you. I like to view it as a contamination spill. If you continue to simply clean up the contamination but never stop the source, it is never ending. If you stop it at the source, the cleanup will actually show progress, but may take a long time and have long term effects that linger for quite some time.

The question specifically mentioned *anti* semitism. I merely substituted Caucasian for Semite to illustrate that some people think it's OK to hate whitey as long as you don't hate a Jew or a negro. Did I violate some sort of cosmic rule that is written solely for us white guys? Who wrote that rule? I reject it and demand a correction. It's one thing to tell me online that I am irrelevant because of my racial being, it's quite another to try that while standing in my presence. Good luck.

I just find that certain ways of approaching the issue, such as stating who is "more than" or "less than" is counterproductive and puts people on the defensive- making them less likely to want to tackle the issue that is so harmful to all of us in the human race;)

JohnOBonno - i understand what you were trying to say. But what point were you trying to make? If you really want equality, then you have to accept everyone, not try to argue that one race are treated unfairly due to postive racism. You have labelled yourself.

I stated my case, you applied a value to it. What scale did you use to label me? Think about your own prejudice first. I'm a white guy who is proud of himself and ashamed of the way society singles out whites as the worst kind of people who's opinions are all wrong, am I to be your whipping boy? Come try to whip me and I'll take you to school. We are all equal until one of us tries to step on the other, then we will see who is more equal. Be proud of who you are and be left alone in peace, I will o the same, if we meet in real life, you'd never know I'm a white guy unless you wanted to know it.

I believe people of every race have a right to be respected, employed and succeed in any society without encumbrances, including my own race. As an employer I hire the most qualified, I have had people work for me who love my management style, no nonsense, fair, even handed and I catch no BS from them. They would tell you that they never felt any form of racist discrimination from me, and they would recommend me as a race friendly employer. It's only people who don't know me who look and see a nasty cracker white boy. Their mistake, not mine. That said, I do not shrink away from a political topic even when the wind blows against me, so stop blowing already!
