What are the Benefits of Volunteering as opposed to a regular paid summer job?

    You can do both, get a part time job AND Volunteer...job = cash which you need. And
    Vol. you get satisfaction from helping others, looks good on future resumes.

    I did both but mine was School (community college) and different volunteering. I recall it was tough. (time wise)But well worth it.

    summer job= cash
    volunteering looks good on a resume(especially if its in the area you want a career in) and college application.
    it really depends on you, but if you can't decide why don't you do a parttime job and mark one or two days off a week on your availiablity and use those days to volunteer.
