Is is better to be intelligent or smart? Is it possible to be too much of either one? How and why?

    For me it would be intelligent but smart is good
    For intelligent I could understand without understanding
    For smart is more action wise like being street smart.

    I think intelligence as being sheer knowledge while being smart encompasses how to use one's intelligence. As such, it is better to be smart.

    Is it possible to be too much or either one? No, so long as one is not arrogant about it.

    No, I don't believe so. It is vitally important that society at large is educated about how the world really works, so we, the electorate, can make informed decisions. I certainly don't think an intellectual should talk down to someone else who doesn't understand certain concepts, that's about where I draw the line.

    So in this case, it's good to be "smart"

    Intelligence is just a side-perk that allows you to get smart sooner.
