    No, expired patents are not thrown out. In fact, expired patents, along with a list of issued patents, trademarks, reissued patents, reinstated patents and certificates of correction are published every Tuesday in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Official Gazette. Contact the Government Printing Office at 202-512-1800 for more information.
