Can a regular spark plug wire be used on a coil?

    No. Older automotive ignitions systems have a coil mounted separately from the distributor. While the type and diameter of wire used for spark plugs and coils are the same, the plug wires have different terminal ends and will not work on the coil.

    Yes on my 94 jeep i had to do that cause the wire pulled out of the boot. i had some old wires and to my luck it fit on the coil. its been over a year and still works, this spring i'll put new wires on with a bit more dialectric grease so it wont happen again.
