    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Some tattoo inks contain lead-based pigments and other heavy metals, according to California Superior Court Judge Irving Feffer. The United States Department of Health and Human Service's Food and Drug Administration does not regulate the content of tattoo ink and warns the metallic content of some tattoo ink has interfered with medical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures, confirming the presence of heavy metals in tattoo inks.
