    Great Answer

    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

    On One Hand: Psychic Entertainment

The thirst for spiritual knowledge and influence causes a person to go to a psychic with high expectations However, today's psychic readers are considered entertainment and hundreds of practitioners have been reported as frauds--often after people have lost small and large amounts of money.

    On the Other: Biblical Viewpoint

Within the Holy Bible, there are scriptures where God forbids consulting with psychics and others performing spiritual divination. Leviticus 20:6-7; Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10; 1 Chronicles 10:13; 2 Chronicles 33:6: Isaiah 8:19 and Isaiah 19:3 are a few of the verses where this practice has been condemned.

    Bottom Line

Based on Princeton University's definitions of sin: "estrangement from God" and as "a transgression of God's will"; then yes--it is a sin to consult with a psychic. Some will advertise their psychic talents sourced from God, which goes against Biblical text and creates confusion for the less informed. It is a sin to go to a psychic even for entertainment, as it is a misuse of finances and proves a lack of faith in God's greater plan for blessings.

The BIBLE says so in Leviticus 19:31. People think although G-d 's words were written 2,000 years ago, they do not pertain to today!! BUT THAT IS WHY they were written!

Yes. The Bible says we are to have no other gods before us. Meaning, we aren't to ask anyone in contact with "spirits" to give us information and advice for our lives. Everything we need to know while on this earth can be found in the pages of the Bible and through patient prayer.

    Absolutely,
God said, " Thou shalt not spend your money on swindlers and rip off artists. " Then later on in the book, the Apostle Paul noted in Corintians 4:42 "thou hath a small mind for believing in God and all sorts of other imaginary creatures such as saints, Santa clause and Unicorns"
    Hope that answers you question,
    Cheers.

I'm an atheist and I don't care what you waste your money on. if you follow the rubbish in the old testament though, it says that anyone divining a ghost or spirit should be stoned to death (somewhere in leviticus 20). at the very least you will be contributing to that person's horrible death and that SHOULD be a sin.
