How to unlock a steering column in a car

    Put the key in and turn it as far as it will go. With your right hand, apply constant pressure to the key (don't break it but be firm) and at the same time, with your left hand, jiggle the steering wheel left and right. It will move that 1/2 inch back and forth until everything lines up in the ignition and the car will start. The key will turn very fast when it does unlock - just be ready for that to happen.

    Okay, same as discribed above.
    with 1 handd wiggle the stering wheel back and forth as you enter the key into the ignition, you'll figure it out easily, and then the key will turn as usual. It's not to difficult. I've had this happen to 2-3 vehicles. odd but it seems to be getting to be a common prob. IF all this does fail indeed, I once had to get a new tumbler set for my car. Took out the out ignition completely had my dealership, reset the tumblers and reinstaled the ignition, and good to go. YOU cannot do this on your own! LOL way to complecated. let us know how things work out!
