Uniroyal's website states that the company is committed to producing affordable, high-quality and durable tires for cars and trucks. Uniroyal offers a standard warranty on all of its tires, which is for six years from the date of sale or for the life of the usable tread. Additionally, Uniroyal offers a range of warranties depending on the tire; four types of tires offer puncture protection.
Safercar.gov, the government's public safety website, reports 29 total recalls for Uniroyal tires and hundreds of safety complaints. Safercar.gov rates tires on a scale of C to A for temperature, or a tire's resistance to heat that could potentially lead to a blowout. Uniroyal tires average a B rating;15 out of 17 tires received this score.
Uniroyal appears to produce good tires at a fair price. The Better Business Bureau rates tires made by Michelin, which owns Uniroyal, as an A+ on a scale of F to A+, without any complaints. Although there have been recalls on Uniroyal tires, the recalls are on older tires dating from the 1970s to the early 1990s.
