I started working for my uncle answering phones and taking orders as well as ordering from the supply house at 17 and worked there every since.
I was a paperboy, earning about $40 a month.
a Chik-fil-a. I dont remember how much the pay was. Whatever the minimum wage in Illinois was in 1994.
I joined as a sub-editor in a local language newspaper immediately after completing my M.A. in 1973. Those were the days before computers became popular and internet had not become such an integral part of communication.
My job was to go through all the news reports coming through the teleprinters from various news agencies, choose the news stories that will be of interest to our readers and mark them.
Then after the editor approves them I was supposed to translate them into the local language.
I worked this this newspaper for 8 months before I got an employment as a probationary officer in a bank.
I remember what I got paid, but if you do not account for inflation, the figure would appear somewhat small.
All I will say is the pay was more than adequate to cover all my expenses.
Computer inputting file information on a new filing database and labelling files at Coopers and Lybrand. It was dead boring.

I'm 18 and my very first job is the job I am currently at right now. I work retail, Grocery Outlet to be specific. Pays $8 an hour starting, which is good considering my first paying job and the min wage is like $7.25.
I was a cashier at WT Grant: a dime store like Woolworths. Seems to me I was paid $1.65/hour--this goes back to the early 60s.

I was 14, it was the Summer of 1972, I was working at a Police Department washing cars, cleaning the grounds, sweeping and swabbing and stuff like that. It was a local Government program designed to keep young people busy during the Summer.

I was a bagger. I did not work there for very long, but I made OK money - they were only tips. Sometimes you can make a great amount. My other job was at Busch Gardens as a Caricature artist. You were paid how much you sold, but minimum wage at the least.
I was a car hop at Shoney's. This was back in the 70's and I think my pay was about $1.02 an hour. I made tips though. +5

I workd as a carpenters assistant Got like 10buck an hour.
It was a soda fountain and I did everything from wait on customers to cook to mop the floors. Started out at 35 cents an hour and I quit because they wanted to work me like a borrowed mule so they gave me 50 cents an hour to stay.

I was a counselor for a BSA camp during their cub scout program. I was on-call 24/7 and got paid less than minimum wage for it. Overall good experience tho. :)
I was a commis waiter (/ runner or whatever else it gets called). I worked for minimum wage for a 16 year old... which was just a few quid.
Doing inventory at a department store. I got minimum wage, which back then (late 60's) was about $1.50 an hour.
Caddy. I believe it was $3 for nine holes (singles) plus tip.

I did the grunt work in a public library - shelving books, filing, etc. Age 15 or 16 (I needed a work permit) $1.79 p/hr.
I was a dishwasher at a seafood restaurant in New Orleans. I was 15 years old and made $5.15 an hour. It was by far the worst job I've ever had in my life. The owner was an alcoholic and would keep me at work till 2am so I could mop the floor to his standards.
Camp counsellor for an outdoor day camp run by the YM/YWCA. We were paid by the month, I think, and it worked out to much less than minimum wage. It was more like quasi-volunteer-employment than actual employment.

I think working for a car body shop, it was a temporary job for a little side income while i was going to highschool.
I was 14. I worked the two weeks of Christmas Vacation at a local clothing store owned by friends of my parents. All I did all day long was prepare boxes from the knocked-down, flat state to the three-dimensional finished product so the sales people could just grab them pre-made. I don't really remember what I earned but I do know that I was very proud of that job and gave the money I made to my folks as my contribution to the household! :)

I cut grass sod with an axe and then lifted it with a shovel onto the back of a truck. It was in Louisiana in the summer (100 degrees-80% humidity). I was payed $.50/hr.
I was 18, working as a temporary fill-in for a file clerk that broke her leg. Three months of $12.50 an hour. It worked out perfectly, because I was able to save up enough money for living expenses when I left for my summer classes across the state.
My first paying job was at a bar/resturaunt doing the dishes from 5:30 to 9:00 on saturday and tuesday nights.
I worked at a movie theatre in high school. I made something like $3/hr. It was a blast though, we had a really good time. Besides the expense, this is why I would not buy concessions at a theatre.
