You're reading How would you feel if it was legal for a person to sell their liver, some skin or a kidney? (ie organs that wouldn't kill them to give up)
Comments
I meant a lobe of the liver, you can give up a certain proportion. But yes, I can see the 'need fast cash' adverts. Would it be so wrong to allow that exploitation, rather than having so many people dying on waiting lists for organs?

Got you about a portion of the liver donation. My concern about the abuse of an organ for cash is that the current donation system is already less than non-profit. People on a waiting list dying is a bad thing I agree. But if it becomes a commodity, what happens when some young healthy person sells an organ to feed thier family, and later needs one and can't afford it? That is my perspective.

Very true. There are pros and cons to everything, especially concerning recovery following surgery to give up an organ, and because kidney associated disorders seem to be on the rise.
