Directed at any women who have pierced nipples: Once I get mine done i'll only have 1 month until my lifeguard job starts @ a county pool- enough time before swimming or will they get infected from pool water? Is there a way to protect them if I do swim?

actually yes, i can name quit a few. i got it done and it works more than fine. i did everything i would normally do, swam, played contact sports, etc... I just kept em real clean and im happy i got them done

Ive heard people say they represent self confidence, acceptance and love of ones own body, and are a statement of sexuality and badge of personal strength... Sure, whatever, that works.

I like them because theres an increase in sensation and I like the variety of cool colors and designs you can get them in. Plus, the spring in my step for knowing I have a semi-private 'secret' that others cant see, the slight rebellion aspect, and novelty of having something thats less common than many other piercings. My boyfriend loves them and I love them.

really. i got them done and did everything i would normally do right away- swimming, contact sports, etc. ive had them for almost a year and a half and never had a single problem. but then again everyones body handles piercings differently

Well I only have 2 in each ear, so these will be my first real body piercings. I didnt have the slighest problem with those and Im not allergic to any metals. Ill wait if I have to, but its tricky because I will be leaving for college immediately after.

You definatley should wait... Also the nipples are hard afterwards for about a few months so it will show like woa =) (Not hard for the rest of your life though.) How long have you been planning this? Why do you want them?
