The NADA Guide is an automotive valuation publication issued by the National Automobile Dealers Association. It is one of the two major automotive guides used in the United States by car dealers and consumers, the other one being the Kelley Blue Book. The NADA Guide's publisher, the NADA, was founded in 1917. Originally formed by a group of car dealers to reduce luxury tax on automobiles, the organization became permanent after successfully lobbying Congress. As of 1933, the NADA began publishing car guides to provide consumers and car dealerships with automotive information. The NADA Guide is meant to educate customers in their buying, selling and trading decisions concerning several kinds of new and used vehicles---from cars, trucks and SUVs to boats, motorcycles and personal watercrafts. In 2000, NADA launched the online version of its guide. This was the organization's attempt to be the most comprehensive vehicle information website. Users can enter any car's make, model and year to see prices, reviews, photos and specifications. The NADA Used Car Guide's biggest competitor is the California-based Kelley Blue Book. Currently America's largest automotive valuation company, its eponymous publication has become synonymous with cars' market value.Publisher
