He's committed the worst offense of all--being out of date. The words 'nappy' and 'ho' were worn out ten years ago. Rappers call women hos, but I don't know any raps about the Rutgers Basketball team, so to that extent, Imus is targeting people who completely don't deserve it. Honestly, though. The biggest surprise for me was finding out he is still on the air. He needs to move on.

he is a shockjock, and I don't listen to him or any of the shockjocks..by listening to them you are basically giving them the okay to do this kind of thing. People should expect comments that are outside the lines, etc from him and others like him. I don't approve of what he said, but c'mon considering the way people fawn all over these blowhards (limbaugh, hanitry, o'reilly, stern, etc) and egg them on to be more outrageous and reward them with increased audience because of their mouths...why are people acting all holier then thou and shocked about this?

While I don't agree with what he said,Freedom of Speech gives him the absolute right to say it! I,for one am sick of every minority whining and screaming every time SOMEONE ELSE shows their prejudice and bigotry. (And, by the way,the blacks are not exactly short supply on prejudice and bigotry either). In fact,I would say,(and Jesse Jackson agrees with me),that a larger percentage of blacks have problems with whites than do percentages of whites with blacks. It's sad, but you can't go around firing people for the idiotic ideas bred in their heads from infancy! I believe,(excluding acts of violence and hate crimes),that all minorities and esp. blacks in this country need to develope a little thicker skin and stop beating the 'they done me wrong' drum. And while we're on the subject. While all the southern states are jumping on the apology bandwagon 140 yrs. after the abolition of slavery, why don't we hear about all the slaves who were freed in the south DURING the slave trade only to become black slave owners themselves,OR that 80% of the black slave trade in the late 1700's and all through the 1800's went to SOUTH AMERICA!!! NOT the U.S. And while we're at it let's all just apologize right now for dragging the Africans from the continent where THEY, MORE THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD AT THE TIME were engaged in the fiercest wars between countries AND Civil Wars that the world had ever known before then OR since! Sorry for bringing you to what is the richest country in the world with the best opportunities for everyone,(minorities included). Get up,brush off your knees, thank God you ARE in America, go to work AND STOP BITCHING!!!!!

If you don't like him, turn him off, don't spoil it for the rest who may have listened to Imus. It's free speech, and everyone has the right to say what they want, but I don't think it's right to threaten Don's livelihood because of this corny joke he made.

    EDIT:
Anthony Cumia had some good points on this stuff this morning (April 13, 2007):

You don't have the right in this country to be not offended. There is no amendment saying you have the right not to get your feelings hurt.

It becomes an infringement on your freedom of speech when these people don't like what your saying and then use mob tactics (terror) and hold a cloud of fear that if you say these words, your livelihood will be taken away based on nothing more than the fact that THEY are personally offended. That is the ultimate of protected speech.

Why would the first amendment protect speech that everyone enjoys?
Speech that needs protection is speech that some may find offensive, some might not agree with, but it's America. You're allowed to say it without the fear that your livelihood (the pursuit of happiness) in this country will be taken away from you. And we live in this time where a victory has been chalked up, blood is in the water, and we're seeing a feeding frenzy.

Everyone in the media is now the fresh meat in the water. Radio personalities, anyone.

    Un-American. Racist. Insane. Hypocritical.
