Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a Ford Taurus - 1999- when driving at night I put on the High beams and the Low beams went out, I had no lights at all. The low beams work until I attempt to put on the High beams. (all so my running lights do not work)

We had a similar problem with our 98 Taurus. The low beams didn't work, and the high beams only "flashed" (pulling toward the driver), but didn't go on if locked. It turned out it was the actual stalk with the high beam controls, and wiper controls. It may be a similar problem with yours

sounds like an electrical short....usually when lights start going it's due to alternator malfunction, but this sounds like electrical.
