Fats in moderation are good for your cat. However, according to PetEducation.com, "... up to half of all pets in the United States suffer from obesity." As a result, it's a good idea to limit fatty or processed human foods as cat treats.
Meat scraps must have bones removed, to prevent choking. Lean chicken, turkey or beef is okay as an occasional treat, and your cat will certainly appreciate the tasty variety to her diet. Tuna is not a good idea, though. It contains mercury, which can hurt your cat.
Cats are carnivores, but appreciate diversity. According to PetDoc.com "...some cats love fresh melon, corn, and cooked broccoli." These are okay in moderate amounts, and allow your cat some variety.
Your cat may beg for sweet treats, but don't do it. According to Rick Weiss, of the Washington Post, cats don't have sweet receptors on their taste buds. In addition, sweets tend to be fattening---for both humans and cats---which can lead to obesity.
Some human foods are potentially lethal to cats. Among the foods that can poison cats are chocolate, alcohol, grapes, anything containing caffeine, nuts, raisins and products containing corn.
