My boyfriend is 22. Last night he admitted to me that when he was 18 he performed oral sex and received it from a kid in his drama class a couple of times, and went to a couple gay bars. He says it was just experimenting, is that normal?

Yes, it is normal to experiment from a time from the graduating high school through college age and then sometimes a bit beyond. Some people naturally know they are attracted to one sex and others need to experiment to know.

Yikes, it is a red flag, but may not be a thing to it...just take more time and eventually, you will know. Certainly, something to consider. Time will tell.

I think it is normal. Experimentation is just learning and although it is indeed a committed act, like someone else suggested, it's not setting in stone what he'll do in the future.

I'm not a guy but if he just did it a few times, I wouldn't think anything of it. It's also possible maybe he wasn't sure if he was bi or not. I made out with a girl a few times in high school, and realized I wasn't bi, but sometimes just having an experience is a good way to find out.

No, it's not normal. An "experiment" carried to the conclusion is a committed act. It makes him bisexual. If that's OK with you, then you have no problem. If you don't want to live with a bisexual, then you do have a problem.

It is OK of course. Some people are curious are homosexual relationships and want to experience.

However you might want to make sure that he no longer has sexual desires for the same sex.
