    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Just how much vitamin B-12 a person can take is not known, because taking excess amounts is not known to be toxic. The recommended daily intake of vitamin B-12 for an adult male or female is 2.4mcg (micrograms). As a water-soluble vitamin, excess levels are normally excreted in the urine.
