So is throwing the shell away.
Probably. It would be better to buy "Egg Beaters" that are just the whites. Of course you could also give the yolk to your dog or cat, then it wouldnt be wasted.
when i make meringues, I only use the whites - so i have to find something to do with the yolks - I hate waste! Anyway - I make lemon curd with the yolks. But, of course, this of course would be daft if you were using the whites only in order to lose weight. Mind you, I cannot see what would be the problem if you have just a teeny weent egg yolk - just walk an extra mile to burn it off
I have egg white omelettes because I think they taste better - I put the yolks in my other half's omelette because he wants all the protein he can get - we're not wasteful at all :)
But the yolk's the best part!
It is wasteful in term of nutritional content, but this is as i understand the purpose of the exercise. People use just the egg white in order to cut down the calorie intake, as egg white has less calories than the yolk.
Note: not suitable in most recipes, just as an alternative to 'whole' scrambled egg.
Yes it's wasteful.
But
Isn't the 'White stuff' Embryonic fluid? The human equivelent of which is afterbirth? If you think about it that way the 'White stuff' is kinda disgusting...
Neither more nor less than eating the yolk and throwing away the white part

You're reading I understand there are people out there who eat egg whites only, then they just discard the yolk? Isnt this wasteful?
