    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

The beginnings of forensic science started in the 700s AD, when the Chinese used fingerprints to identify documents and sculptures. In 1000, Roman records show that Quintilian, an attorney in the Roman courts, argued that bloody palm prints were created to frame a blind man for murder. In 1248, the Chinese published a book called "Hsi DuanYu," which became the first documented application of medical knowledge to solving a crime.
