Tooth pain makes daily activities difficult. Several factors can contribute to tooth pain, and while some are more serious than others, nothing is more important than relieving tooth pain when it strikes. If you're experiencing tooth pain, there are some remedies you can try to ease or eliminate pain until you can see your dentist. Over-the-counter medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen can help ease pain until you are able to see a dentist. According to Dental Health Magazine, some alternative remedies can help ease tooth pain: Sometimes a piece of food lodged between teeth can cause minor discomfort. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water to remove any debris and ease pain. Stir about 2 tsp. in a cup of water and swish in your mouth. Use dental floss to remove any remaining debris between your teeth. Try Medication
Over-the-counter antiseptics with benzocaine and clove oil are also helpful in relieving tooth pain, according to the Mayo Clinic. Rub the antiseptic or oil directly on the aching area or apply a small amount to a cotton swab and place the cotton on your aching tooth.
Don't put aspirin or any other type of pain killer directly on your tooth or gums because it can burn gums.Try Other Remedies
Ice or a cold pack placed on the outside of your cheek can relieve some pain and swelling.
Apply about five drops of cow parsnip seed tincture to the aching area.
Chill a small stack of dried peppermint leaves and apply this to the painful area.
Apply a clove of garlic with a small bit of rock salt on the area.Clean and Elevate the Area
Elevate your head at night. Blood goes to your head when you lie down, causing an increase in pain.Source:
