Yes. It's called Munchausen syndrome, a psychiatric disorder in which those affected feign sickness in order to draw sympathy or attention to themselves.

A Hypochondriac is a person that feels he is suffering from one or more illnesses, even though they are healthy. However,I don't know if they actually LIKE the feeling.

I don't think there is a disorder where people actually like being sick, but there are disorders where people enjoy the attention they recieve when they are sick. Munchausen's syndrome is a disorder where the person feigns illness to recieve attention. Also people with histrionic personality disorder may exaggerate illnesses in order to get attention.

Everyone seems to be saying that hypochondriasis is a disorder in which people enjoy being sick. This is not true, it's more of the opposite, actually. Hypochondriacs are extremely afraid of being sick. They constantly worry about having a serious illness. Hypochondriacs definitely do NOT enjoy being sick.

I don't think there is a disorder in which one enjoys being ill. Hypochondriasis is an excessive fear of having a serious disease or diseases. Even when proven to be in good health, hypochondriacs cannot give up the fear of a disease lurking out there. These people interpret normal aches and pains as pointers to a serious illness. There are mental illness in which a person craves attention and uses feeling ill to boost that attention. But, I'm not sure of anyone or anything liking the physical sensations of illness.

It's true, hypochondria is an intense fear that one will get sick, while munchausens is when one physically induces an illness to recieve attention. Neither of these cover wanting to be sick without inducing the physical symptoms. However, there is probably still a part of you that may want the attention (and this is not always a bad thing, it is not wrong to want to be noticed) for whatever reason. I have often wished for the same thing. When I was a kid, I was sick a lot. Now I am fine, but I miss the care that I got without actually having to work incredibly hard for it. I don't really know how to get and feel that level of attention anymore. I guess I just wanted to say that you aren't alone here. Maybe it would help to look into the reasons why you want to be sick, possibly by journaling about it to just get everything out having to do with this. It could also be helpful to talk to a counselor (at school the service is free), just make sure to let them know that you have no plan to hurt yourself or others (unless that is true of course).
