This may sound like procrastination, but I always read my favorite passages by my favorite authors and remember how good writing sounds. Now, a few people have told me that this may be just me and that they end up just reading books and not writing for days.
While you're still in your writer's block, remember this: "A truly good writer is often someone for whom writing is more difficult than it is for most people."
I think that's true because I know a lot of people who never have "THE BLOCK," as I call it because they will just slop down anything and don't really care.
Good luck!
You must go out and gain experience through living to give you more to write about.
Just start writing anything. Timed writing exercises can help to get the inspiration flowing again. Pick a random sentence from a book, and write it down, then continue writing whatever comes to mind for 5 minutes. Then pick a new sentence and do the same thing again.
Ursula K. LeGuin referred to one of her published short stories as a "bung-puller", a story she had written without worrying if it was good or where it would go, just to get herself past her writer's block.
You could also try writing about your worst fears regarding your writing, to get them out in the open and not stopping you anymore.
Good luck!
