  • P.S. I think that the cop put "200 Chambers street" rather than 236 Chambers street as the location that he pulled me over to cover up the fact that he came on private property to pull me over?? PSS there is no such address on my street anyway.
  • They "can," but I wouldn't think it was legal. I'd look up the property rights, ask another police officer, read the laws, etc. to find out if you've been wronged. The wrong address should clearly void the ticket.
  • No. You are not on a public throughway, ergo he has no jurisdiction.
  • If the initial traffic stop originated on the public street and you pulled into your private drive, then yes, the traffic stop, by the officer, is justified. Any other violations, resulting from the justified traffic stop, are also legal. Any minor corrections can be corrected in traffic court.
