Those images look real, how can you tell? Ive heard before that dogs can get over 500 pounds and cats can get over 1000 pounds, they are called "ligers" if my memory serves me right. I forgot what dogs over 500 pounds were named or the breed.

Google it, sex. There's tons of reputable sites out there with information on this!
Cats are a different thing. The feline species is entirely different and breeds come in house cat size to the big monsters like lions or tigers.
Or, as you have mentioned, hybrids like ligers. These can reach up to 705 pounds (Not an "average weight of up to 1000 pounds" like I read in one site. That sentence makes no sense. An average weight is a specific value...not a variable "up to a 1,000 pounds").
