    According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers earned a median hourly wage of $19.08 in 2008. The top 10 percent of earners collected more than $30.59 per hour, while the lowest 10 percent earned less than $12.19 hourly.
