  So what about the verses in 1 Timothy 4 (1-5 specifically) that warn of false teachers telling believers they should abstain from certain foods, foods that God has given to us?

  Your first post is absurd, you've forgotten context completely. God set up the law, Christ tore it down and then JS set it back up again?

• My point is this: Stauros attempts to paint the LDS church as wrong because it does not allow its members to consume alcohol, and he justifies it by citing a scripture, and Old Testament one no less. I turn it around and remind him that the OT also forbids the consumption of pork, and that based on his logic, all bible believing Christians should not eat pork.(but should drink alcohol). Yet then I'm accused of not having context when I use this argument. I could list multiple items that are clearly taught in the bible but are not accepted or practiced by Christianity at large. I don't have a problem with that. To each his own--worship how and what you want. However if someone is going get on his high horse and lecture me and my church for not following the bible *exactly* to the letter of the law as it is written, they had better be following it exactly that way themselves.

  But then your case for defending the CoJCoLDS and attacking Christians falls apart because you too have ignored context.

  BTW you can't pick and choose what to follow, it's all or nothing. So other than ignoring Paul's warnings against following those who forbid the eating of certain foods, what else do you ignore? Probably the criterion for detecting false prophets...

• The NT clearly says that women are to be covered and to keep silent in church. Do you and your church strictly follow that teaching?
