To apply strip eyelashes, I use glue by Ardell, found at most drugstores and beauty supplies. You apply it to the strip of lash (it's white, but dries clear) and get as close as you can to your natural lashline. If you are applying single lashes, there is a different kind of glue so make sure you get the right kind.
