Let me clarify - I pay for everything for myself not including health insurance, which is the reason I'm still listed as a dependent under my parents. Other than that, yes I work and I'm on my own.

well you live under their roof and eat their food.
so you are a dependent.
however,
you want to claim your tuition then you should file your taxes or you should get a cut.
So you pay market rates for your room, your food, dentistry, medical, clothes etc.? And btw, if you're earning an income and paying for your tuition, you can deduct it instead of them.
If you are paying for everything, have you considered filing your own tax return and taking the tuition write-off for yourself?
