Where did the saying "Use your noodle" come from?

    In Britain, 'noddle' refers to the head. This comes from the Latin nōdulus which means lump or knob. This has been combined with the word fool, substituting the 'od' in noddle for the 'oo' in fool resulting in 'noodle'. It has nothing to do with egg noodles.
