    Max. He's a german shepherd and the breeder said we had to name him something that began with the letter "L" and add the kennel name, so he became Lomax of the Black Forest....Max for short.

    My dog is called Gelert, after a famous irish wolfhoud owned by the Prince of Wales who protected the prince's child from a wolf. My dog isn't a wolfhoud but the name suits him well.

    My dogs are Madeline (Maddie) and Miriam. Miriam I chose from "The Tragedy of Miriam" by Elizabeth Cary (the first known woman to be published in England) and a really beautifully written play, and I knew I wanted to alliterate my dogs' names, so I like Madeline, and that is her name.

    I have a Border Collie mix named "Bucket". This name was given to him by a little girl before I got him. It was due to him having to wear a large bucket like collar following a surgery when he was a puppy. He already answered to it when I got him, and it just suits him.

    I have a Rottweiler named Oz (because he kind of looks like Ozzie Osbourne. (sweet dog though, he wouldn't bite the head off of anything, much less a bat). We also have a cat named Lucy (which is short for Lucifer). She was named Tiffany, or something like that. We renamed her because she is a satanic 8lb ball of fur, teeth and claws. She is the most hateful, spastic, evil, demon spawn of a cat I have ever seen.

    Too bad Oz likes her.

    well my current cat's Madeleine nad PRincess were named by the ASPCA and they seemed to fit so I kept them

    and my last cat Hannah was homeless and trying to bogart her way into our house hence her name HOmelss Hannah Bogart

    "Merlin" is 6 months old today!!! Happy Birthday Merlin! He is a blue "merle" Great Dane and before I went to pick him up at 6 weeks old, I had names narrowed down to Merlin because of the "merle" or "Apache"... when I saw him for the first time in person I saw that one eye was half blue. I decided at that moment that it would be "Merlin" like the Wizard since he looked kinda "magical".

    And I have a Chow/Aussie mix that is named Lena. She is named after a Quarter Horse who had Lena in it's name.

    My dog's name is Xam. He got his name from a chain of names:
    We had a cat named Mini, then we got a collie and named him Max (to have the minimum and the maximum lol), and then came the newest puppie. What do we name him? Medium? yuck! Halfway? double yuck!
    So we wrote Max backwards and got Xam.
