What are Australians' attitudes in general towards the Monarchy? Would they rather be a republic or are they in favour of keeping the Queen as the symbolic head of state?

Don't think about the monarchy much at all, and I was born in England. Makes for good news when one of them do something stupid!

keep the queen ...and it wouldn't cost anything , the 2 billion they say it will cost to change everything could be used for much better things like hosptials

Republic all the way, she doesn't feature heavily in anything around here anymore, even our governors of state are keeping quiet. I don't think they've had a real say in anything for a long time.

Republic all the way, the only thing I will miss is the Commonwealth Games.
