Wear tons of padding, walk the balance beam, wean thyself of training wheels, work on balance. I STG, I can ride a 10 speed MB with no hands. Oh yeah, make sure the handle bars are screwed tight to the frame, this will add stabilaty.

The faster you go the easier it is to balance.

hold on to the person run with them and let go carefully so they dont find out and if theyre ok by themselves show them you let go

I heard that you could try going to a slight hill that's grass covered and try just letting them coast down with both feet on the ground. Then, as they get the hang of the balancing part, they can raise their feet, and if they fall, they get grass skids instead of road rash. I tried it out with my daughter, but realized she just wasn't ready. Maybe it's like potty-training. They're ready when they're ready.
