    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

A seizure occurs when there is a temporary electrical disturbance within the brain. It is possible for a person to have a seizure during surgery, especially if the patient has epilepsy. An anesthesiologist will take preventative measures to guard against a seizure occurring during surgery, but they can happen.
