FrostWire is a media download program based on the Gnutella network and is popular for peer to peer exchanges of media files including music and video. With the newest updates, FrostWire supports over 15 billion files online through the network. Files you have already downloaded are shared among others on the FrostWire network. The program allows you to control several aspects of the download process, and there are also several operating system changes you can make to speed up some types of downloads. The easiest and most accepted way to speed up FrostWire is to download the pay-based version of the program, which is known as known as LimeWire Pro. Essentially, this places your downloads on a slightly different network, where it can take channels that are more exclusive and have a higher priority than normal FrostWire channels. Normal FrostWire downloads have only so much room, so there are simultaneous download restrictions put into place to stop clients from taking up too much bandwidth. Moving to the paid system removes these restrictions and can significantly speed up downloads. Outside options are also available, which you can use to speed up your download processes in general. A variety of web accelerators are available for download. These store basic web information and other data on your hard drive or other nearby servers so that your computer does not have to work as hard to find information, speeding up download speed on others. Many accelerators are designed specifically for FrostWire, although you will need to be careful of malware.FrostWire Manipulation
Options are available in the FrostWire program that you can use to speed up specific downloads, if you do not want to pay for the Pro system. For instance, if you refuse to share your finished downloads with other peers, then your system will have slightly more operating power to download files, increasing your download speed. You can also go into Downloads and specify that you only want to download one file at a time, with all of your available bandwidth devoted to that single download. This will make files download faster one at a time, which is useful for large files.Web Accelerators and Computer Systems
You can also try removing firewalls on your operating system. Firewalls check the data coming into your computer, so removing them will speed up the download process...at a risk. You will have far fewer defenses against viruses and malware, and you should probably only lower firewalls when downloading files from FrostWire.Source:
